Narrative:

While on ojaay one arrival into dca; I checked in with potomac approach control and advised we had the ATIS. He told me another ATIS was in effect and when I got it; I let him know. While getting new ATIS with runway change; I got busy changing radios instruments etc with new runway. Captain was doing the same including changing the FMS. After that was complete; he briefed the new runway. We noticed the aircraft had not turned from sammo to scrip...just then approach asked us about the turn and gave us an immediate heading vector. No conflict. This could have been avoided if approach would have simply said what runway they were now using so we were not so busy at a crucial time in flight.
