Narrative:

After pushback we requested the pushback crew to return to the aircraft; plug in headset; and communication with us. One of the push crew walked out to the aircraft and plugged in a headset and communicated with us. He finished by saying 'I am leaving to talk with our load control agent.' I saw him walk clear of the aircraft to our right. Our load control agent said we were ok to depart. We called ground control and received taxi clearance to runway 26. 30 seconds later; load control called us and said the ground crew had left the headset plugged into the aircraft. We called ground and had them send a truck out to take the headset out and verify we were secure to continue. They gave us an ok and we continued. Contributing factors: many new ground personnel working for our company. Some in my opinion are not adequately trained. The ground crew upon returning to our aircraft should have brought at marshaller with him to signal us for all safety issues. The ground person should never have walked away from the aircraft leaving the headset plugged in.

Narrative: AFTER PUSHBACK WE REQUESTED THE PUSHBACK CREW TO RETURN TO THE ACFT; PLUG IN HEADSET; AND COM WITH US. ONE OF THE PUSH CREW WALKED OUT TO THE ACFT AND PLUGGED IN A HEADSET AND COMMUNICATED WITH US. HE FINISHED BY SAYING 'I AM LEAVING TO TALK WITH OUR LOAD CTL AGENT.' I SAW HIM WALK CLR OF THE ACFT TO OUR R. OUR LOAD CTL AGENT SAID WE WERE OK TO DEPART. WE CALLED GND CTL AND RECEIVED TAXI CLRNC TO RWY 26. 30 SECONDS LATER; LOAD CTL CALLED US AND SAID THE GND CREW HAD LEFT THE HEADSET PLUGGED INTO THE ACFT. WE CALLED GND AND HAD THEM SEND A TRUCK OUT TO TAKE THE HEADSET OUT AND VERIFY WE WERE SECURE TO CONTINUE. THEY GAVE US AN OK AND WE CONTINUED. CONTRIBUTING FACTORS: MANY NEW GND PERSONNEL WORKING FOR OUR COMPANY. SOME IN MY OPINION ARE NOT ADEQUATELY TRAINED. THE GND CREW UPON RETURNING TO OUR ACFT SHOULD HAVE BROUGHT AT MARSHALLER WITH HIM TO SIGNAL US FOR ALL SAFETY ISSUES. THE GND PERSON SHOULD NEVER HAVE WALKED AWAY FROM THE ACFT LEAVING THE HEADSET PLUGGED IN.
