Narrative:

Approximately 2 mins after the parking brake was set at the gate the jetway struck the airplane very hard while being maneuvered by the cust service rep. The impact was harder than either the first officer or myself have ever experienced. While passenger were deplaning; a ramp worker who had been inserting the nosewheel bypass steering pin came up to the cockpit and reported he had been knocked to the ground by the impact. He also said the nosewheel of the aircraft moved about 3 inches to the right when the jetway struck. A maintenance report and verbal call to maintenance were made reporting the incident and requesting that the aircraft be inspected for damage.
