Narrative:

I was notified by another mechanic that remove and reinstall of radio altimeter transceivers requires a qualified signoff. I was not aware of this and am not currently qualified. I am not sure that I have ever perform operations test and sign-off of this unit; however; I know I have removed and replaced this line replacement unit. I am currently taking steps to attain qualification on type B737 series. I will be sure to not sign off return to service of this line replace unit until qualification is obtained. I did not correctly research maintenance manual to access information needed to perform task.
