Narrative:

Approaching lax on civet 4 arrival. Planning runway 25R for landing. Told by ATC to descend via civet 5 for runway 24R. Switched to raw data and continued descent while captain reprogrammed the FMS. Descending on schedule when told to slow to 250 KTS. Decreased rate of descent and used speed brakes to slow aircraft. Fell behind on descent profile. I did not notice the maximum altitude of 9800 ft at decor intersection. Crossed decor quite high. ATC then vectored us to runway 25R as originally planned and we landed without incident on runway 25R.
