Narrative:

I was cruising at 11000 ft direct signe intersection in class B. I was advised of a VFR aircraft 500 ft below at 11 O'clock position. I idented the aircraft then saw a jet in my cockpit window. I deviated hard right and he appeared to be climbing. The director of the ATC facility called and said it was an operational error. Both aircraft were cleared to 11000 ft. He said it was a class a (severe) near miss. Both aircraft were as one for 2 sweeps of the radar; he advised the controller had been decertified.
