Narrative:

Filed from flight control to fly rsw to cvg via sweed 7 arrival. Cleared as filed by ATC. Cleared to descend and cross dresr at FL240. Handed off to ZID. Approaching sweed indy asks if we are flying an assigned heading. We indicted; 'no; proceeding direct sweed as filed.' we are told 'we aren't using that arrival; turn left...heading 300 degrees.' later informed that even though we were filed and cleared the sweed 7 arrival; vxx transition; and in fact cleared to descend and maintain FL240 by a fix found only on that transition; the transition was notamed out. No known conflicts arose.
