Narrative:

Clt was in a south operation landing runways 18R and 23; departing runways 18L and 18R. In order to conduct this converging operation the local controller 'shall' be required to provide visual separation on arrs from 2 mi out until the landing. I complained to the manager in charge I could only see aircraft between 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 mi and could not apply standard separation and we needed to switch to a simultaneous ILS runways 18L and 18R approach confign. The manager told me 'just run it' as there were too many aircraft on the runway 23 approach to break off. Separation was lost on dozens of aircraft. This is a direct result of pressure to not run delays.

Title: CLT CTLR EXPRESSED CONCERN REGARDING SUPVR DIRECTED VISUAL SEPARATION APPLICATIONS DURING SIMULTANEOUS LNDGS ON RWY 18R AND RWY 23.

Narrative: CLT WAS IN A S OP LNDG RWYS 18R AND 23; DEPARTING RWYS 18L AND 18R. IN ORDER TO CONDUCT THIS CONVERGING OP THE LCL CTLR 'SHALL' BE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE VISUAL SEPARATION ON ARRS FROM 2 MI OUT UNTIL THE LNDG. I COMPLAINED TO THE MGR IN CHARGE I COULD ONLY SEE ACFT BTWN 1 1/2 TO 1 3/4 MI AND COULD NOT APPLY STANDARD SEPARATION AND WE NEEDED TO SWITCH TO A SIMULTANEOUS ILS RWYS 18L AND 18R APCH CONFIGN. THE MGR TOLD ME 'JUST RUN IT' AS THERE WERE TOO MANY ACFT ON THE RWY 23 APCH TO BREAK OFF. SEPARATION WAS LOST ON DOZENS OF ACFT. THIS IS A DIRECT RESULT OF PRESSURE TO NOT RUN DELAYS.
