Narrative:

FL370 pitot 3 inoperative EICAS message. Pitot 3 inoperative abnormal procedure applied; message remained. Electrical smell noticed after procedure. Pitot 3 de-selected. Slight haze noted in cockpit. Called flight attendant. She stated electrical smell in cabin with no visible smoke or haze. Electrical smell increased. Notified ATC of event. Cleared to FL120. During descent performed 'electrical system fire or smoke' procedure with known source. Pursuant to far 121.557 and far 121.559 emergency declared during descent. Landing uneventful. Flight attendant stated haze or smoke now visible in cabin during rollout. Stopped on taxiway with equipment standing by. Firemen stated no visible smoke on exterior of aircraft and no fire detected with thermal imaging sensor. Shut down engines smoke decreased. Passenger deplaned with stairs and bussed to terminal. Very calm and orderly. Passenger were kept informed from descent up to bus arrival at aircraft. Logbook write ups with prior pitot 3 inoperative in logbook prior to my flight. Crew continued on with new aircraft. All original passenger aboard.

DURING DSCNT PERFORMED 'ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FIRE OR SMOKE' PROC WITH KNOWN SOURCE. PURSUANT TO FAR 121.557 AND FAR 121.559 EMER DECLARED DURING DSCNT. LANDING UNEVENTFUL.
