Narrative:

Having read the reports regarding deviations from the dfw RNAV departures; I carefully follow procedures regarding loading and verifying rtes and waypoints. This trip was no different. However; on departure; ZFW called to say we were left of track; and cleared us direct ortro; flight plan. I looked at the map display and saw we were tracking direct lit. I have no idea how this occurred; and don't understand why the waypoints dropped out. I will be more vigilant.
