Narrative:

We were cleared for takeoff on runway 18L at dfw from taxiway a. During the takeoff roll (prior to V1 and prior to liftoff) the tower cleared another aircraft for takeoff on our runway. Had we aborted the takeoff we would have been either struck or overflown by the aircraft taking off behind us. This is not even remotely safe.
