Narrative:

On landing; I flared too quickly causing a balloon. I added power and glided to touchdown. Upon power up for a touch-and-go; the airplane veered sharply to the left and slid off the side of the runway; clipping a runway light with the propeller. I reduced power; rolled back onto the runway; came to a complete stop and then taxied to the ramp to report the incident. Upon reflection; I think my left foot must have been resting on the brake and when reaching over to raise the flaps; I inadvertently pressed down on the brake causing the turn to the left. Steps to prevent recurrence: 1) spend time with CFI reviewing my procedures. 2) fly with second CFI for independent review. 3) make sure foot is resting on the floor to prevent inadvertent brake pressure. 4) practice touch-and-go procedures until mastered appropriate technique.

Title: A SOLO C150 STUDENT PLT EXITED THE RWY DURING A TOUCH-AND-GO TKOF. WHILE RE-ENTERING THE RWY; THE PROP STRUCK A RWY LIGHT.

Narrative: ON LNDG; I FLARED TOO QUICKLY CAUSING A BALLOON. I ADDED PWR AND GLIDED TO TOUCHDOWN. UPON PWR UP FOR A TOUCH-AND-GO; THE AIRPLANE VEERED SHARPLY TO THE L AND SLID OFF THE SIDE OF THE RWY; CLIPPING A RWY LIGHT WITH THE PROP. I REDUCED PWR; ROLLED BACK ONTO THE RWY; CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP AND THEN TAXIED TO THE RAMP TO RPT THE INCIDENT. UPON REFLECTION; I THINK MY L FOOT MUST HAVE BEEN RESTING ON THE BRAKE AND WHEN REACHING OVER TO RAISE THE FLAPS; I INADVERTENTLY PRESSED DOWN ON THE BRAKE CAUSING THE TURN TO THE L. STEPS TO PREVENT RECURRENCE: 1) SPEND TIME WITH CFI REVIEWING MY PROCS. 2) FLY WITH SECOND CFI FOR INDEPENDENT REVIEW. 3) MAKE SURE FOOT IS RESTING ON THE FLOOR TO PREVENT INADVERTENT BRAKE PRESSURE. 4) PRACTICE TOUCH-AND-GO PROCS UNTIL MASTERED APPROPRIATE TECHNIQUE.
