Narrative:

On landing from a visual approach I was on rollout from the landing and configuring the aircraft for a continued takeoff. As I reached down to configure trim to takeoff position, I inadvertently applied forward pressure on the yoke. The tail started to raise and, as a reflex action, I 'tapped' the brakes. Actions resulted in propeller striking the runway. The aircraft stopped nose-down, resting on the propeller. The deceleration was not enough to lock my shoulder harness. It did not throw me forward and did not cause the propeller spinner to contact the runway. Most of my time is in large tricycle gear aircraft which caused me to apply brakes by habit! Also, low experience was a factor. The movement to adjust trim (a bending down to the right), which caused the forward yoke pressure, was not being considered by me! Correct for me -- stop-and-goes, not touch-and-goes.

Title: MAULE M7 ACFT LNDG WITH INTENT TO MAKE TOUCH-AND-GO. AS RPTR PLT WAS ATTEMPTING TO SET TRIM ON LNDG ROLL, THE TAIL STARTED TO COME UP AND IN A REFLEX ACTION, PLT TAPPED BRAKES WHICH TIPPED ACFT UP ON THE NOSE AND HIT PROP.

Narrative: ON LNDG FROM A VISUAL APCH I WAS ON ROLLOUT FROM THE LNDG AND CONFIGURING THE ACFT FOR A CONTINUED TKOF. AS I REACHED DOWN TO CONFIGURE TRIM TO TKOF POS, I INADVERTENTLY APPLIED FORWARD PRESSURE ON THE YOKE. THE TAIL STARTED TO RAISE AND, AS A REFLEX ACTION, I 'TAPPED' THE BRAKES. ACTIONS RESULTED IN PROP STRIKING THE RWY. THE ACFT STOPPED NOSE-DOWN, RESTING ON THE PROP. THE DECELERATION WAS NOT ENOUGH TO LOCK MY SHOULDER HARNESS. IT DID NOT THROW ME FORWARD AND DID NOT CAUSE THE PROP SPINNER TO CONTACT THE RWY. MOST OF MY TIME IS IN LARGE TRICYCLE GEAR ACFT WHICH CAUSED ME TO APPLY BRAKES BY HABIT!
