Narrative:

The aircraft that departed prior to us was a heavy B747. Wind conditions were favorable for wake vortices to remain in the runway area/departure path. We discussed this fact prior to beginning our takeoff roll. We allowed 2 mins from the time we saw the departing B747 begin its takeoff roll before we began ours. Approaching V1; the captain noted that the control column movement was abnormal and initiated an abort. The aircraft was brought to an uneventful stop. We cleared the runway and returned to the gate; also uneventfully.
