Narrative:

Upon gear extension in ZZZ the nose gear down and lock did not illuminate. Followed QRH; talked with dispatch and maintenance control; and did a tower fly-by. The mechanical over center link indicator was up (normal) and we had visual confirmation with the tower that the gear was down and locked. Kept flight attendant and passenger informed. Declared an emergency and the landing in ZZZ was uneventful.
