Narrative:

En route at cruise altitude we entered light turbulence. Shortly thereafter; a flight attendant reported a thumping sound beneath the cabin floor. She described it as random; and it quit after 1-2 mins. The sound did not recur. After landing; during her walkaround; my first officer discovered the left pneumatic ground service connector door was missing. Also; there was physical damage to the area immediately aft of the missing door. I informed my dispatcher of the possibility of a dropped object in-flight over tennessee (based upon the timing of the reported thumping).
