Narrative:

Departed crp runway 13 on runway heading. Contacted departure control at 1300 ft. Departure control instructed left turn to 010 and climb to 15000 ft. We started the turn and immediately got a TCAS RA to descend. First officer was flying. He looked out his side window and saw a T44 trainer heading right at us less than half a mile. He immediately banked approximately 45 degrees and descended to comply with the RA. The last he saw of the T44; it was belly up to us approximately 500 ft away. The T44 was entering the NAS corpus traffic pattern on a VFR flight plan and was later determined by crp ATC to be on a legal entry to its pattern. Crp ATC is trying to get NAS corpus to change its entry altitude when runway 13 at crp is in use.
