Narrative:

The staffing at santa barbara has decreased from 36 cpc's authorized to 28 cpc's; currently 21 cpc's available. At the same time there has been an increase in airspace and an additional 4 position added. Position that once could not be combined are now combined 15-17 hours out of a 17 hour day. In the past 8 months; management has taken 2 cpc's off the boards to cover a staff position that was operated by one cpc. At the same time they took another cpc from the operational area to fill a supervisor position where there was none. The facility just received 5 flight service developmentals; one of which is able to retire now. We have 7 cpc's available to retire now; 3 of which will retire soon.

Title: SBA CTLR EXPRESSED CONCERNS REGARDING STAFFING ALLOTMENTS.

Narrative: THE STAFFING AT SANTA BARBARA HAS DECREASED FROM 36 CPC'S AUTHORIZED TO 28 CPC'S; CURRENTLY 21 CPC'S AVAILABLE. AT THE SAME TIME THEY TOOK ANOTHER CPC FROM THE OPERATIONAL AREA TO FILL A SUPVR POS WHERE THERE WAS NONE. THE FACILITY JUST RECEIVED 5 FLT SVC DEVELOPMENTALS; ONE OF WHICH IS ABLE TO RETIRE NOW. WE HAVE 7 CPC'S AVAILABLE TO RETIRE NOW; 3 OF WHICH WILL RETIRE SOON.
