Narrative:

After the repairs were completed; I told the mechanics that I was going to stay in the aircraft and that I would shut the aircraft down; so the mechanics left to flight operations. When I was ready; I turned off the APU and battery. At this time; not knowing the remote parking procedures and never working on the line; I reverted back to my military days and did a walkaround and disconnected the battery.
