Narrative:
I flew from ryan airfield, tucson (ryn) to marana regional airport, tucson (avq). On a previous visit there 2 days earlier, I noted that runways 3/21 were closed. Runway 12 is the preferred runway at avq. When I tuned in ASOS for avq, it was OTS. I reported my intentions on the CTAF to fly left traffic to runway 12, avq. I later reported on the 45 degree and again upon turning downwind for runway 12. Midfield on downwind I heard a call on avq CTAF that runway 12 was closed and I should use runway 3. At that time I was abeam the departure end of runway 3 and looked to confirm that it was no longer closed. I confirmed with avq unicom that runway 3 was indeed open. I proceeded to land on runway 3. After landing, I called FSS and asked for NOTAMS for avq. I was advised by FSS that runway 12/30 was closed until XE00Z and runway 3/21 was closed indefinitely. I had lunch at avq and observed at least a dozen takeoffs and lndgs on runway 3 in the ensuing hour and at approximately XA45Z I took off on runway 3 which was notamed closed. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter advised that runway 3/21 was re-opened temporarily due to maintenance being performed on runways 12/31.
