Narrative:

100 mi east of ZZZ; flight attendant called about smoke smell from power ports. Passenger in X had used power port; flight attendant shut down system. For next 10 mins tried to rid cabin of burning smell. Odor moved from first class cabin throughout aircraft. Followed smoke removal procedure but odor did not dissipate. Captain called dispatch and discussed divert to ZZZ. Patched to maintenance and they concurred with possible electrical problem. Declared emergency and diverted to ZZZ; made overweight landing. While running checklist for descent; were slow to respond to clearance change from center. Center called to ask if we were turning.
