Narrative:

Flew sloppy approach after hectic day. Mental fatigue certainly played a part in this. Day started with late request to depart 1 hour early. Airplane had not been deiced and towed into position; as promised. FBO broke 11 crystal glasses. Flight attendant upset. Extra passenger showed up for this flight. Quick call to customs made. Finally took off in icing conditions. Got to destination and had time consuming customs inspection; with all bags checked. Told 3 hour ATC delay to teb due to winds in new york area. Flight plan filing service dumped teb from system. Re-filed. When airborne; things went fine. However; we received vector to join final approach course inside wanes. Normally ok. However; flight director; which was set up correctly; didn't capture final course properly. VOR DME-a teb. The way it captured was in such a manner as to cause a huge overshoot of inbound radial. I made a correction to the overshoot; but it was insufficient. We flew over the field maybe 1/2 mi north of proper place. Not too big a deal; but I had also been late to slow. Tower called speed 280 KTS. I saw 230 KTS; there was a tailwind. I should have been at 200 KTS or less. Turned downwind. Initially set up for runway 24; tower had said expect runway 19. Tower alerted us to the fact that we appeared to be set up for wrong runway. Re-corrected. Made smooth landing on proper runway. Passenger walked off happy. Lesson: don't let your guard down on long stressful days. Watch your equipment better and stay alert.
