Narrative:

Both departures level at 11000 ft; 6 mi; same route; same type aircraft; same company. Radar equipment not giving a good readout on speeds yet. LOA between ZOB and pit says 5 mi constant or increasing between like types. I climbed both; back aircraft overtook front aircraft. Approach control should have assigned speeds to ensure separation. Front aircraft was a DH8-a; back aircraft a DH8-B = 60 KT overtake.
