Narrative:

At cruise FL320; the flight attendants called us in the cockpit to report the smell of electrical burning. We also noticed it in the cockpit about this time. This was also a recent write-up from a previous flight. The flight attendants would later report that the burning smell seemed to start from the rear of the cabin. I declared an emergency and diverted into ZZZ. The emergency and descent checklist were run and the smell of smoke dissipated quickly. We landed overweight at 136000 pounds; without incident and taxied to the gate.
