Narrative:

An air carrier's third party vendor maintenance repaired the engine support beam in the aft equipment compartment and removed both cargo fire extinguishing bottles. Upon reinstallation of bottles; the cannon plugs to both bottles were incorrectly installed -- squib cannon plugs on the pressure gauge and pressure gauge cannon plugs on squibs causing the cargo fire extinguishing system to not test properly. System was placed on the MEL list and deferred aircraft then returned to ZZZ where the cannon plugs were noted to be installed incorrectly. Wiring was corrected and aircraft was returned to service.
