Narrative:

At top of climb out of smf; I advised crew of suggested new routing south of 2 large cells of WX over nebraska and the other over iowa. Considering the WX was moving north and across the route filed; I thought the more southerly route was safer and avoid the 2 areas of encroaching thunderstorms. I sent 3 messages to the crew without response to any. My last message to them was 'please acknowledge this message and/or previous messages.' after some time went by; I started a call to ZDV to make contact with the flight. As the supervisor ZDV answered; I received an ACARS from the flight stating they would continue on filed course and assess the WX visually and then make any necessary turns. This was contrary to what I wanted him to do. I thought the safer plan was to fly south of the WX but he seemed as if he was determined to ignore any request or suggestion that I offered regardless. He was obtaining all his information from ATC. I was effectively out of operational control of this flight. The captain had absolutely no regard or concern for my responsibility or input. As I type this; he is heading directly for a line of thunderstorms that could have been completely avoided had he not been wearing his 'I am god hat.' this has put me in a very uncomfortable situation. The captain has to come to realize the scope of the picture that we have in regards to the WX ahead of them in downline ctrs.

Title: DISPATCHER FEELS A319 FLT CREW FAILS TO GIVE REASONABLE CONSIDERATION TO HIS SUGGESTION FOR A RERTE AROUND WX.

Narrative: AT TOP OF CLB OUT OF SMF; I ADVISED CREW OF SUGGESTED NEW ROUTING S OF 2 LARGE CELLS OF WX OVER NEBRASKA AND THE OTHER OVER IOWA. CONSIDERING THE WX WAS MOVING N AND ACROSS THE RTE FILED; I THOUGHT THE MORE SOUTHERLY RTE WAS SAFER AND AVOID THE 2 AREAS OF ENCROACHING TSTMS. I SENT 3 MESSAGES TO THE CREW WITHOUT RESPONSE TO ANY. MY LAST MESSAGE TO THEM WAS 'PLEASE ACKNOWLEDGE THIS MESSAGE AND/OR PREVIOUS MESSAGES.' AFTER SOME TIME WENT BY; I STARTED A CALL TO ZDV TO MAKE CONTACT WITH THE FLT. AS THE SUPVR ZDV ANSWERED; I RECEIVED AN ACARS FROM THE FLT STATING THEY WOULD CONTINUE ON FILED COURSE AND ASSESS THE WX VISUALLY AND THEN MAKE ANY NECESSARY TURNS. THIS WAS CONTRARY TO WHAT I WANTED HIM TO DO. I THOUGHT THE SAFER PLAN WAS TO FLY S OF THE WX BUT HE SEEMED AS IF HE WAS DETERMINED TO IGNORE ANY REQUEST OR SUGGESTION THAT I OFFERED REGARDLESS. HE WAS OBTAINING ALL HIS INFO FROM ATC. I WAS EFFECTIVELY OUT OF OPERATIONAL CTL OF THIS FLT. THE CAPT HAD ABSOLUTELY NO REGARD OR CONCERN FOR MY RESPONSIBILITY OR INPUT. AS I TYPE THIS; HE IS HEADING DIRECTLY FOR A LINE OF TSTMS THAT COULD HAVE BEEN COMPLETELY AVOIDED HAD HE NOT BEEN WEARING HIS 'I AM GOD HAT.' THIS HAS PUT ME IN A VERY UNCOMFORTABLE SITUATION. THE CAPT HAS TO COME TO REALIZE THE SCOPE OF THE PICTURE THAT WE HAVE IN REGARDS TO THE WX AHEAD OF THEM IN DOWNLINE CTRS.
