Narrative:

We pushed back from gate X and stopped between gates X and Y. There was a 737-300 at gate Z; an md-80 at gate Y; a 757 at gate west calling for taxi; and another 737-300 holding short of runways 15/33. Upon release; ground instructed us to 'taxi to runway 15; hold short of runway 8.' the initial maneuver required us to turn 90 degrees left facing runway 15/33 and an immediate right turn paralleling the runway; avoiding the md-80 at gate Y and the 757 at gate west. There are no taxi lines behind gates X and Y as the taxi line does not begin until gate west. I was well aware of the bur 10-7 warning regarding non-movement area. The runway was also closed to departing traffic until we cleared the gate area. The taxi clearance; lack of visual cues and minimum clearance; the required maneuver; the closure of the runway; my belief that the 757 was going to push; and the fact that we taxied down runway 15/33 the previous evening led me to believe that we were cleared in to the non-movement area. As soon as I began to taxi and it became apparent that I was overshooting the extended taxi line behind gate west and encroaching upon the runway; the first officer corrected me and we turned towards the taxi line. During this time our left wing entered the non-movement area. Ground advised us of the error and we acknowledged it. He stated that it is very confusing especially with the tight maneuvering initially required. At no time was there any conflict as the holding aircraft would not have been and was not cleared for takeoff until we had taxied clear of all the gates.

Title: A320 FLC AT BUR ENTERED RWY 33 WITH WING WHILE TAXIING TO RWY 8 AND AVOIDING OTHER ACFT THAT WERE PUSHED BACK IN THE 'B' GATE AREA.

Narrative: WE PUSHED BACK FROM GATE X AND STOPPED BETWEEN GATES X AND Y. THERE WAS A 737-300 AT GATE Z; AN MD-80 AT GATE Y; A 757 AT GATE W CALLING FOR TAXI; AND ANOTHER 737-300 HOLDING SHORT OF RWYS 15/33. UPON RELEASE; GND INSTRUCTED US TO 'TAXI TO RWY 15; HOLD SHORT OF RWY 8.' THE INITIAL MANEUVER REQUIRED US TO TURN 90 DEGS L FACING RWY 15/33 AND AN IMMEDIATE R TURN PARALLELING THE RWY; AVOIDING THE MD-80 AT GATE Y AND THE 757 AT GATE W. THERE ARE NO TAXI LINES BEHIND GATES X AND Y AS THE TAXI LINE DOES NOT BEGIN UNTIL GATE W. I WAS WELL AWARE OF THE BUR 10-7 WARNING REGARDING NON-MOVEMENT AREA. THE RWY WAS ALSO CLOSED TO DEPARTING TFC UNTIL WE CLRED THE GATE AREA. THE TAXI CLRNC; LACK OF VISUAL CUES AND MINIMUM CLRNC; THE REQUIRED MANEUVER; THE CLOSURE OF THE RWY; MY BELIEF THAT THE 757 WAS GOING TO PUSH; AND THE FACT THAT WE TAXIED DOWN RWY 15/33 THE PREVIOUS EVENING LED ME TO BELIEVE THAT WE WERE CLRED IN TO THE NON-MOVEMENT AREA. AS SOON AS I BEGAN TO TAXI AND IT BECAME APPARENT THAT I WAS OVERSHOOTING THE EXTENDED TAXI LINE BEHIND GATE W AND ENCROACHING UPON THE RWY; THE FO CORRECTED ME AND WE TURNED TOWARDS THE TAXI LINE. DURING THIS TIME OUR L WING ENTERED THE NON-MOVEMENT AREA. GND ADVISED US OF THE ERROR AND WE ACKNOWLEDGED IT. HE STATED THAT IT IS VERY CONFUSING ESPECIALLY WITH THE TIGHT MANEUVERING INITIALLY REQUIRED. AT NO TIME WAS THERE ANY CONFLICT AS THE HOLDING ACFT WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN AND WAS NOT CLRED FOR TKOF UNTIL WE HAD TAXIED CLR OF ALL THE GATES.
