Narrative:

We reported to captain that our manual and far cabin required preflight of lavatory heat strip indicators could not be done as they were not there. Captain received facsimile from company that as a brand new aircraft; maintenance had until jun/xa/05 to place strips. We felt; however; this does not alleviate our flight attendant duties and requirements to preflight and carry passenger without strips.
