Narrative:
I was called out because external power couldn't be hooked up. Found that 2 pins on receptacle were bent. Placarded external power per MEL 24-3; but did not read MEL correctly; and did not accomplish mpm 24-3 section ii; C. Notified avionics for follow-up. This task is usually handled by our avionics crew; so I was not familiar with the compliance requirements for this MEL.

Narrative: I WAS CALLED OUT BECAUSE EXTERNAL PWR COULDN'T BE HOOKED UP. FOUND THAT 2 PINS ON RECEPTACLE WERE BENT. PLACARDED EXTERNAL PWR PER MEL 24-3; BUT DID NOT READ MEL CORRECTLY; AND DID NOT ACCOMPLISH MPM 24-3 SECTION II; C. NOTIFIED AVIONICS FOR FOLLOW-UP. THIS TASK IS USUALLY HANDLED BY OUR AVIONICS CREW; SO I WAS NOT FAMILIAR WITH THE COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS MEL.
