Narrative:

Aircraft X was on my frequency for radar advisories going to omaha at 4500 ft. North of LOA; I handed aircraft X off to ZFW; scy sector. My sector at the time was extremely busy with a north departure push out of houston complicated by the hou lrr being OTS. I failed to switch aircraft X to scy and subsequently lost radar with the aircraft without noticing it (since the data block had timed out).
