Narrative:

En route ZZZ to ZZZ1; east of ZZZ2 engine #1 gen tripped off line. Was able to reconnect gen and all was normal for about 15 min. Engine #1 gen again tripped off line. Was not able to reconnect gen second time. Started APU and powered the bus. Shortly after that; the light in the #1 fire handle came on without any other warning (no bell; no master warn). Called maintenance to discuss the situation and determined without the other warnings or engine indications; was a faulty light. While still talking to maintenance; we also had a #1 engine hydraulic low pressure light come on. At that point we felt enough abnormal things happening to divert to ZZZ2 and have things checked out. A normal landing at ZZZ2 with no abnormal indications at time of landing. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: at the diversion station the contract technician found the generator ground terminal loose at the grounding stud. The fire handle report was cleared by replacing the panel on the center control panel. The hydraulic low pressure warning light checked ok. The flight departed with a short delay. Callback conversation with reporter acn 642953 revealed the following information: the reporter believes the generator was repaired by tightening a ground wire. The fire panel was borrowed and replaced correcting the fire handle light problem. The fix on the low hydraulic warning light is unknown.

Title: A B737-500 AT FL310 DIVERTED DUE TO #1 GENERATOR TRIPPED OFF TWICE. RED #1 ENG FIRE HANDLE LIGHT ON; AND #1 ENG LOW HYDRAULIC PRESSURE WARNING.

Narrative: ENRTE ZZZ TO ZZZ1; E OF ZZZ2 ENG #1 GEN TRIPPED OFF LINE. WAS ABLE TO RECONNECT GEN AND ALL WAS NORMAL FOR ABOUT 15 MIN. ENG #1 GEN AGAIN TRIPPED OFF LINE. WAS NOT ABLE TO RECONNECT GEN SECOND TIME. STARTED APU AND POWERED THE BUS. SHORTLY AFTER THAT; THE LIGHT IN THE #1 FIRE HANDLE CAME ON WITHOUT ANY OTHER WARNING (NO BELL; NO MASTER WARN). CALLED MAINT TO DISCUSS THE SIT AND DETERMINED WITHOUT THE OTHER WARNINGS OR ENG INDICATIONS; WAS A FAULTY LIGHT. WHILE STILL TALKING TO MAINT; WE ALSO HAD A #1 ENG HYD LOW PRESSURE LIGHT COME ON. AT THAT POINT WE FELT ENOUGH ABNORMAL THINGS HAPPENING TO DIVERT TO ZZZ2 AND HAVE THINGS CHECKED OUT. A NORMAL LNDG AT ZZZ2 WITH NO ABNORMAL INDICATIONS AT TIME OF LNDG. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: AT THE DIVERSION STATION THE CONTRACT TECHNICIAN FOUND THE GENERATOR GND TERMINAL LOOSE AT THE GROUNDING STUD. THE FIRE HANDLE RPT WAS CLRED BY REPLACING THE PANEL ON THE CTR CTL PANEL. THE HYDRAULIC LOW PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT CHKED OK. THE FLT DEPARTED WITH A SHORT DELAY. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR ACN 642953 REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR BELIEVES THE GENERATOR WAS REPAIRED BY TIGHTENING A GND WIRE. THE FIRE PANEL WAS BORROWED AND REPLACED CORRECTING THE FIRE HANDLE LIGHT PROB. THE FIX ON THE LOW HYDRAULIC WARNING LIGHT IS UNKNOWN.
