Narrative:

No WX, no unusual pitch attitudes, no wake turbulence, no evidence of bird strike per ord mechanic. Sudden vibration then exploding noise as #2 engine stalled. Brought power to idle, #2 engine egt rose to 670 degrees and smelled burning odor. Followed engine stall ECAM, which came up first, then engine shutdown ECAM. Engine was shut down in less than 1 1/2 mins from point of stall period. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the captain declared an emergency and crash fire rescue equipment for the landing. The reporter does not now what happened to the engine, or what maintenance did to the engine.

THE RPTR DOES NOT NOW WHAT HAPPENED TO THE ENG, OR WHAT MAINT DID TO THE ENG.
