Narrative:
Listened to ATIS. Called ground with departure heading 250 degrees. Was cleared to taxi to runway 20. Completed run-up and checklist. Called tower 'ready to depart.' tower answered 'taxi, position and hold.' acknowledged. After acknowledging the instruction, I proceeded past the hold short line, but prior to reaching the runway. I then heard the tower clear a cessna to land on runway 20. I stopped prior to the runway. I called tower and asked for clarification. The tower said they had never spoken to me. The cessna was instructed to go around. The tower cleared me to depart.

Narrative: LISTENED TO ATIS. CALLED GND WITH DEP HDG 250 DEGS. WAS CLRED TO TAXI TO RWY 20. COMPLETED RUN-UP AND CHKLIST. CALLED TWR 'READY TO DEPART.' TWR ANSWERED 'TAXI, POS AND HOLD.' ACKNOWLEDGED. AFTER ACKNOWLEDGING THE INSTRUCTION, I PROCEEDED PAST THE HOLD SHORT LINE, BUT PRIOR TO REACHING THE RWY. I THEN HEARD THE TWR CLR A CESSNA TO LAND ON RWY 20. I STOPPED PRIOR TO THE RWY. I CALLED TWR AND ASKED FOR CLARIFICATION. THE TWR SAID THEY HAD NEVER SPOKEN TO ME. THE CESSNA WAS INSTRUCTED TO GO AROUND. THE TWR CLRED ME TO DEPART.
