Narrative:

During cruise flight at FL370 engine #1 partially lost power. We declared an emergency to be able to go to a lower altitude in order to be able to maintain safe airspeed. Then while descending we got power back to normal on engine #1 and stayed completely normal for the remainder of the flight to ZZZ. The emergency was canceled with ZZZ center with no further incidents. Systems operations center/maintenance operations center was contacted during the remainder of the flight and on the ground at ZZZ where it was written up to maintenance. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated the airplane engines are equipped with full authority digital electronic engine controls. The reporter said the left engine was commanded by the fadec to idle for a few mins and then power returned. The reporter said the unit was replaced by maintenance.
