Narrative:

On aug/sun/04 we were cleared for ILS runway 6 teb. We intercepted the localizer and although we knew we had a crossing restr to cross dandy at 1500 ft (which was charted only, not verbal) we failed to meet this restr because it is below the GS. To prevent this situation, new york should descend aircraft to 1500 ft before clearing them for this approach. We were cleared to 2000 ft and a heading to intercept and fly ILS runway 6 teb. Although no deviations were caused by this event we had a TA from an ewr departure.
