Narrative:

Captain turned on fasten seat belt sign. Do not remember pilot maing a PA. Had 3 passenger that needed to use lavatory. Only one in bac of aircraft operational. I had passenger situation down. They fastened seat belts. I moved last person to use lavatory to last row. He was next and he bucled his seat belt. I felt I should secure aft galley. Flight was much more turbulent. I secured galley. When coming out of galley, I felt aircraft hit on top of my head. Then I felt my body was parallel to aircraft ceiling. I could see everything in cabin flying up. Then I was going down. I thin I hit the seatbac. Then felt lie I was flying up again. Then I finally slammed down on aisle floor. Landed on my left side. My elbow was under my body, left wrist in the air. Moved feet under seatbars. Grabbed seatbar with right hand, just in case we dropped/or flew up again, I wouldn't be going anywhere. With pilots having radar, hearing other aircraft, listening to ground control, and nowing that high winds and tornadoes were in our area, we should have prepared for landing at least 1 hour to 45 mins earlier. I believe pilot had a judgement error! Prepare cabin for landing at least 45 mins to 1 hour earlier, and let passenger now that they must remain seated and that the WX was bad in st louis. Since coming bac to wor, I have noticed that many other pilots have the cabin crew prepare for landing earlier, especially if WX conditions were bad! Flight attendants have many duties to complete prior to landing, compliance ch, picing up any additional garbage, finding places to store additional garbage bags -- aisle clear, identification and children bucled, answering passenger question, many other distrs. Maybe 45 mins of flight should be when prepare for landing begins when we are in a bad WX area.

Title: AN MD-80 FLT ATTENDANT EXPRESSED EXTREME ANGER AT HER CAPT FOR NOT WARNING THE CABIN OF TURB WHICH CAUSED HER INJURY DURING A FLT FROM SNA TO STL.

THEY FASTENED SEAT BELTS. I MOVED LAST PERSON TO USE LAVATORY TO LAST ROW. HE WAS NEXT AND HE BUCLED HIS SEAT BELT. I FELT I SHOULD SECURE AFT GALLEY. FLT WAS MUCH MORE TURBULENT. I SECURED GALLEY. WHEN COMING OUT OF GALLEY, I FELT ACFT HIT ON TOP OF MY HEAD. THEN I FELT MY BODY WAS PARALLEL TO ACFT CEILING. I COULD SEE EVERYTHING IN CABIN FLYING UP. THEN I WAS GOING DOWN. I THIN I HIT THE SEATBAC. THEN FELT LIE I WAS FLYING UP AGAIN. THEN I FINALLY SLAMMED DOWN ON AISLE FLOOR. LANDED ON MY L SIDE. MY ELBOW WAS UNDER MY BODY, L WRIST IN THE AIR. MOVED FEET UNDER SEATBARS. GRABBED SEATBAR WITH R HAND, JUST IN CASE WE DROPPED/OR FLEW UP AGAIN, I WOULDN'T BE GOING ANYWHERE. WITH PLTS HAVING RADAR, HEARING OTHER ACFT, LISTENING TO GND CTL, AND NOWING THAT HIGH WINDS AND TORNADOES WERE IN OUR AREA, WE SHOULD HAVE PREPARED FOR LNDG AT LEAST 1 HR TO 45 MINS EARLIER. I BELIEVE PLT HAD A JUDGEMENT ERROR! PREPARE CABIN FOR LNDG AT LEAST 45 MINS TO 1 HR EARLIER, AND LET PAX NOW THAT THEY MUST REMAIN SEATED AND THAT THE WX WAS BAD IN ST LOUIS. SINCE COMING BAC TO WOR, I HAVE NOTICED THAT MANY OTHER PLTS HAVE THE CABIN CREW PREPARE FOR LNDG EARLIER, ESPECIALLY IF WX CONDITIONS WERE BAD! FLT ATTENDANTS HAVE MANY DUTIES TO COMPLETE PRIOR TO LNDG, COMPLIANCE CH, PICING UP ANY ADDITIONAL GARBAGE, FINDING PLACES TO STORE ADDITIONAL GARBAGE BAGS -- AISLE CLR, ID AND CHILDREN BUCLED, ANSWERING PAX QUESTION, MANY OTHER DISTRS. MAYBE 45 MINS OF FLT SHOULD BE WHEN PREPARE FOR LNDG BEGINS WHEN WE ARE IN A BAD WX AREA.
