Narrative:

Prepared for landing a few moments early per captain's request. As I'm heading for my jump seat, santa ana winds began to jerk aircraft. I immediately sat in last row passenger seat and buckled up. Very turbulent. Suddenly we dropped approximately 200 ft (first officer informed me later). Was able to return to jump seat just before landing, but auxiliary tables had flown out of storage space above #2 flight attendant jump seat. Nowhere for these metal tables to go but sideways directly into my jump seat. Thank god I had sat in passenger seat during our drop or I would have been seriously injured.
