Narrative:
After going visual while on a localizer approach runway 20L, ATC cleared an aircraft for takeoff at approximately 3 mi final. At approximately 1 mi final ATC cleared aircraft #2 for takeoff. Aircraft #2 had just lined-up on centerline while we were 1/2 mi final, at which point I decided to initiate a go around. We informed ATC and ATC instructed us to make left traffic. We entered left downwind in VMC and landed uneventfully.

Title: PDK LCL CTLR PUT TFC INTO POS AND HOLD WITH LNDG TFC ON A 1 MI FINAL, RESULTING IN A GAR.
Narrative: AFTER GOING VISUAL WHILE ON A LOC APCH RWY 20L, ATC CLRED AN ACFT FOR TKOF AT APPROX 3 MI FINAL. AT APPROX 1 MI FINAL ATC CLRED ACFT #2 FOR TKOF. ACFT #2 HAD JUST LINED-UP ON CTRLINE WHILE WE WERE 1/2 MI FINAL, AT WHICH POINT I DECIDED TO INITIATE A GAR. WE INFORMED ATC AND ATC INSTRUCTED US TO MAKE L TFC. WE ENTERED L DOWNWIND IN VMC AND LANDED UNEVENTFULLY.
