Narrative:

Upon taxi out from sfo, first officer requested taxi clearance to runway 28R. The runway in use at the time was runway 1R, but we needed runway 28R because of our heavy weight. The ground controller seemed irritated with this request and spewed out a hurried clearance for us to taxi to runway 28R and then 'chewed us out' for asking so 'late,' we were just at the edge of the ramp at the time on taxiway M. I really don't know how much earlier he wants us to give our request. The clearance sounded something like this: 'cleared to runway 28R via txwys M, left, F, hold short of runway 28L, hold short of runway 1L, begin taxi now next time, don't wait so late to make your request for 28's.' we both wrote down his instructions as best we could and studied our taxi charts. Then the controller said again, 'aircraft X, start your taxi now, aircraft Y is waiting for you.' I looked to the left and noted aircraft Y coming fast down taxiway a. An aircraft was crossing runway 1L at taxiway H and a city car driving on runway 1L. I had somehow missed the part about holding short of runway 1L and taxied onto runway 1L to give aircraft Y some more room. My copilot said, 'stop, you were supposed to hold short of runway 1L...I think.' I said 'oh, oh,' and stopped. He told ground what we did and he said to go ahead and cross runways 1L and 1R and hurry, there was a commuter holding for takeoff on runway 1R. I had noted him earlier and crossed quickly as requested. No further incident, but we were both happy to be rid of this hurried ground controller.

Title: RWY INCURSION RWY 1L BY A HARRIED MD80 FLT CREW WHEN GIVEN A RUSHED CLRNC AND AN AGGRESSIVE RESPONSE BY GND CTLR FOR THEIR 'LATE' REQUEST FOR A RWY 28R DEP AT SFO.

Narrative: UPON TAXI OUT FROM SFO, FO REQUESTED TAXI CLRNC TO RWY 28R. THE RWY IN USE AT THE TIME WAS RWY 1R, BUT WE NEEDED RWY 28R BECAUSE OF OUR HVY WT. THE GND CTLR SEEMED IRRITATED WITH THIS REQUEST AND SPEWED OUT A HURRIED CLRNC FOR US TO TAXI TO RWY 28R AND THEN 'CHEWED US OUT' FOR ASKING SO 'LATE,' WE WERE JUST AT THE EDGE OF THE RAMP AT THE TIME ON TXWY M. I REALLY DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH EARLIER HE WANTS US TO GIVE OUR REQUEST. THE CLRNC SOUNDED SOMETHING LIKE THIS: 'CLRED TO RWY 28R VIA TXWYS M, L, F, HOLD SHORT OF RWY 28L, HOLD SHORT OF RWY 1L, BEGIN TAXI NOW NEXT TIME, DON'T WAIT SO LATE TO MAKE YOUR REQUEST FOR 28'S.' WE BOTH WROTE DOWN HIS INSTRUCTIONS AS BEST WE COULD AND STUDIED OUR TAXI CHARTS. THEN THE CTLR SAID AGAIN, 'ACFT X, START YOUR TAXI NOW, ACFT Y IS WAITING FOR YOU.' I LOOKED TO THE L AND NOTED ACFT Y COMING FAST DOWN TXWY A. AN ACFT WAS XING RWY 1L AT TXWY H AND A CITY CAR DRIVING ON RWY 1L. I HAD SOMEHOW MISSED THE PART ABOUT HOLDING SHORT OF RWY 1L AND TAXIED ONTO RWY 1L TO GIVE ACFT Y SOME MORE ROOM. MY COPLT SAID, 'STOP, YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO HOLD SHORT OF RWY 1L...I THINK.' I SAID 'OH, OH,' AND STOPPED. HE TOLD GND WHAT WE DID AND HE SAID TO GO AHEAD AND CROSS RWYS 1L AND 1R AND HURRY, THERE WAS A COMMUTER HOLDING FOR TKOF ON RWY 1R. I HAD NOTED HIM EARLIER AND CROSSED QUICKLY AS REQUESTED. NO FURTHER INCIDENT, BUT WE WERE BOTH HAPPY TO BE RID OF THIS HURRIED GND CTLR.
