Narrative:

After pushback from gate at iah, our engines were started and the pushback crew was waved off using normal procedures. Taxi clearance was issued and I began to taxi out of the alley. While the aircraft was in motion, a bag runner pulled in front of the aircraft forcing me to stop. He wanted to load more bags which I refused. He insisted and approached the aircraft in an unsafe manner. We had to contact ramp control for a supervisor to get him to move. Fortunately, we were paying attention and no injuries occurred, nor was the aircraft damaged. It could easily have turned out the other way.
