Narrative:

Aircraft involved were aircraft X, sfo to lax, via sadde 6 arrival, and aircraft Y, ont to hnl via gmn rzs C1176 dinty. Aircraft X was already shipped to the next center sector when aircraft Y checked on frequency. Aircraft X was descending to FL240, and aircraft Y was level FL260. The 2 aircraft were crossing traffic with aircraft X heading approximately 130 degrees and aircraft Y heading 250 degrees. Prior to oedp activating, the d-side expressed to me that the 2 aircraft did not appear to him to be separated (by 5 or more mi). I evaluated the situation again and was confident we would have 5+ mi between these 2 aircraft, but still felt that a different aircraft, aircraft Z, was a factor and kept his altitude restr to FL270. I re-evaluated the situation carefully and in my judgement, did not consider aircraft X to be aircraft Y's traffic. Oedp activated and zero ft horizontal and 4.875 NM lateral. The closest point was 700 ft vertical and 3.8 NM horizontal. Aircraft Y departs ont and is cleared via gmn rzs. I suggest these aircraft are cleared via lax dinty or sxc dinty so as to avoid the lax arrival flow.

Title: ZLA HDOF CTLR ALERTS ZLA RADAR CTLR OF POTENTIAL LOSS OF SEPARATION BTWN AN MD80 IN DSCNT OUT OF FL260, XING WITH A LEVEL B767-300 AT FL240 DURING A COM XFER TO ANOTHER ZLA CTLR.

Narrative: ACFT INVOLVED WERE ACFT X, SFO TO LAX, VIA SADDE 6 ARR, AND ACFT Y, ONT TO HNL VIA GMN RZS C1176 DINTY. ACFT X WAS ALREADY SHIPPED TO THE NEXT CTR SECTOR WHEN ACFT Y CHKED ON FREQ. ACFT X WAS DSNDING TO FL240, AND ACFT Y WAS LEVEL FL260. THE 2 ACFT WERE XING TFC WITH ACFT X HDG APPROX 130 DEGS AND ACFT Y HDG 250 DEGS. PRIOR TO OEDP ACTIVATING, THE D-SIDE EXPRESSED TO ME THAT THE 2 ACFT DID NOT APPEAR TO HIM TO BE SEPARATED (BY 5 OR MORE MI). I EVALUATED THE SIT AGAIN AND WAS CONFIDENT WE WOULD HAVE 5+ MI BTWN THESE 2 ACFT, BUT STILL FELT THAT A DIFFERENT ACFT, ACFT Z, WAS A FACTOR AND KEPT HIS ALT RESTR TO FL270. I RE-EVALUATED THE SIT CAREFULLY AND IN MY JUDGEMENT, DID NOT CONSIDER ACFT X TO BE ACFT Y'S TFC. OEDP ACTIVATED AND ZERO FT HORIZ AND 4.875 NM LATERAL. THE CLOSEST POINT WAS 700 FT VERT AND 3.8 NM HORIZ. ACFT Y DEPARTS ONT AND IS CLRED VIA GMN RZS. I SUGGEST THESE ACFT ARE CLRED VIA LAX DINTY OR SXC DINTY SO AS TO AVOID THE LAX ARR FLOW.
