Narrative:

Arrived at the hotel at XA00 with minimum layover (9 hours behind the door). Wake-up call was set for XJ00. Crew desk called at XF15 to advise me that I would be deadheading on scheduled work flight versus actually flying trip to correct 30/7 problem. I asked scheduler if my report time had changed. He said no. I then asked him why he had called and woke me up on a short night. He said his supervisor told him to call. Air carrier X does not respect the spirit of the witlow ruling, and in any case, appears to be vindictive towards its pilots. After arriving ord, I did a cle turn. Returning to ord on flight abc, I was completely exhausted. I will never turn a wheel again under similar circumstances.
