Narrative:

Our flight was cleared for takeoff on runway 17R at dfw. Flex thrust was set and we had just made the 80 KT call when tower controller told us to abort the takeoff, make a right turn on taxiway left, stay with him and taxi back to runway 17R. We complied as directed by the tower controller. The tower controller advised there was a pick-up truck sitting on the far end of our runway. The tower controller queried us as to whether we would be able to go once we were at the departure end of runway 17R. We checked the brake temperature indicators and our release fuel and determined we were good to go and responded to the tower we would be ready. Only idle reverse thrust was used to slow the aircraft during the abort. Brake indicators were in the green and indicating '01.' this was the same indication noted during the taxi to runway 17R for the initial takeoff roll. Fuel requirements per the release were met and we departed uneventfully.

Title: CRJ CREW WAS INSTRUCTED TO ABORT THE TKOF. THERE WAS A TRUCK AT THE FAR END OF THE RWY.

Narrative: OUR FLT WAS CLRED FOR TKOF ON RWY 17R AT DFW. FLEX THRUST WAS SET AND WE HAD JUST MADE THE 80 KT CALL WHEN TWR CTLR TOLD US TO ABORT THE TKOF, MAKE A R TURN ON TXWY L, STAY WITH HIM AND TAXI BACK TO RWY 17R. WE COMPLIED AS DIRECTED BY THE TWR CTLR. THE TWR CTLR ADVISED THERE WAS A PICK-UP TRUCK SITTING ON THE FAR END OF OUR RWY. THE TWR CTLR QUERIED US AS TO WHETHER WE WOULD BE ABLE TO GO ONCE WE WERE AT THE DEP END OF RWY 17R. WE CHKED THE BRAKE TEMP INDICATORS AND OUR RELEASE FUEL AND DETERMINED WE WERE GOOD TO GO AND RESPONDED TO THE TWR WE WOULD BE READY. ONLY IDLE REVERSE THRUST WAS USED TO SLOW THE ACFT DURING THE ABORT. BRAKE INDICATORS WERE IN THE GREEN AND INDICATING '01.' THIS WAS THE SAME INDICATION NOTED DURING THE TAXI TO RWY 17R FOR THE INITIAL TKOF ROLL. FUEL REQUIREMENTS PER THE RELEASE WERE MET AND WE DEPARTED UNEVENTFULLY.
