Narrative:

Passenger noted us to an abnormal smell. We started a precautionary descent, during descent smoke started entering cockpit. We declared an emergency. ATC vectored us to wichita, ks, where we landed and evacuate/evacuationed the aircraft safely. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter told of a burned up recirculating fan. The fan impeller blades are made of plastic and they jammed forcing the motor to stop turning. As a result, the electrical motor began smoking. After the motor was replaced, no further problems were evident.
