Narrative:

We were parked on the ese side of the houston hobby airport. We called for taxi and received the following clearance. 'Nxx, taxi to runway 12R via txwys C, Z, east.' we read back full instructions. We proceeded to taxiway C and before turning onto taxiway C we received the following clearance, 'nxx, hold short of runway 22 on taxiway C.' we read back full hold short instructions. As we are taxiing and approaching the hold short line at runway 22 on taxiway C, we received the following clearance, 'nxx, cross runway 22 and taxi via txwys C, Z, east.' we read back full instructions. As per company SOP prior to crossing any runway, we visually and audibly clear left, clear right, and confirm cleared to cross. As I was clearing at about my 10 O'clock position, there was an airplane on its takeoff roll in which I braked immediately, putting me on the hold short line. I knew we were cleared to cross, but I instructed my copilot to confirm that we were cleared to cross runway 22 and we received an 'affirmative' from ground control. We then replied with 'what about this airplane that just departed in front of us?' there was no reply. We then proceeded to clear the runway and once confirmed clear, we crossed runway 4/22 and taxied to runway 12R via txwys C, Z, east with caution. Our next clearance from the ground controller was 'nxx, monitor tower.'

AS WE ARE TAXIING AND APCHING THE HOLD SHORT LINE AT RWY 22 ON TXWY C, WE RECEIVED THE FOLLOWING CLRNC, 'NXX, CROSS RWY 22 AND TAXI VIA TXWYS C, Z, E.' WE READ BACK FULL INSTRUCTIONS. AS PER COMPANY SOP PRIOR TO XING ANY RWY, WE VISUALLY AND AUDIBLY CLR L, CLR R, AND CONFIRM CLRED TO CROSS. WE THEN PROCEEDED TO CLR THE RWY AND ONCE CONFIRMED CLR, WE CROSSED RWY 4/22 AND TAXIED TO RWY 12R VIA TXWYS C, Z, E WITH CAUTION. OUR NEXT CLRNC FROM THE GND CTLR WAS 'NXX, MONITOR TWR.'
