Narrative:

Medical emergency declared while leveling 12000 ft/250 KTS on tyssn arrival into las. Flight attendant advised passenger non-responsive. I asked if physician on board wanted to declare medical emergency. Physician said yes. Advised approach control for expeditious handling. Advised las operations at approximately XA45 of medical emergency. Cleared straight in visual runway 25R. Landing, taxi-in uneventful except, ground crew did not have gate area prepared (had to manually push air start cart out of safety zone) despite the fact that paramedics were visibly standing in the jetway. This delayed our arrival at the gate by approximately 2 mins, which is about the same time we saved by declaring the medical emergency. I'm just glad it wasn't me in the cabin waiting to get to the gate!
