Narrative:

During rotation on departure from slc to anc, there was a hesitation or a resistance in the elevator. The resistance was only momentary and the aircraft was hand flown to approximately FL200 with no further problems. During the hand flown portion of the approach and landing, additional roughness and resistance was present in the elevator. Maintenance was accomplished to correct. The problem was a binding or restr bearing in the elevator ctring assembly.
