Narrative:

After landing on runway 18R, first controller instructed XXXX to taxi on taxiway east to hold short of runway 18L at taxiway Y. Approaching taxiway Z, first controller instructed XXXX to cross runway 18L at taxiway Y. As XXXX went through taxiway Y hold short lines, I noted that an air carrier Y erj was in position and hold on runway 18L when a second controller cleared air carrier Y to takeoff on runway 18L. I stopped immediately still short of the runway but through the hold short lines. Air carrier Y continued their takeoff and we were then cleared to cross by second controller. We explained that the previous controller had cleared us to cross. The second controller then indicated that we were correct. Flight XXXX then proceeded to the gate without further incident.
