Narrative:

Ferry flight of A320 that saturday for 5 days in sju for a yellow system hydraulic problem. We picked up the aircraft after it had been repaired to ferry it to ord. Normal departure out of sju, climbed to FL390, and was level for about 3 mins and the ECAM screen flashed the hydraulic page and returned to normal. That caught our attention, so I selected the hydraulic page on the screen. Yellow system looked ok, but the green fluid was rapidly depleting. ECAM sounded. We followed the checklist and declared an emergency and returned to sju. We landed without incident and were towed to parking. Green system completely failed, requiring manual gear extension and no nosewheel steering.
