Narrative:

After touchdown, on rollout, the plane encountered severe wind gust (crosswind) unable to be compensated for with control surfaces, even though proper corrective action was taken, the wind blew the airplane off the runway resulting in a go around. The aircraft was unable to climb fast enough to avoid hitting a light post. Light posts near airport could be lowered to avoid similar incident. Runway width and down-slope also contributed.
